this is the first line:

SAN FRANCISCO - In a monumental victory for the gay rights movement, the California Supreme Court overturned a voter-approved ban on gay marriage Thursday in a ruling that would allow same-sex couples in the nation's biggest state to tie the knot.

cali is the third biggest state, AFTER Alaska and then Texas. does biggest refer to population now?  wtf? am i reading this wrong? now there are hundredds of stories around the 'net using the ap wire with an erroneous piece of info. hello, 7th grade geography?

a dude on his way to recycle some stuff at the austin recycling center on the east side right by I-35 on 4th and san marcos. one of my fave things to do when i'm at progress coffee right across the field, is to watch the foot traffic to and fro around the area to the recycling center. it is an amazing display of an austin demographic that is largely invisible to city visitors and nowhere to be seen in the free glossy austin design and entertainment magazines which seem to be in abundance for such a small city (why are there so many of those things?). i've never seen a woman in the traffic. it is always men, of all colors and age groups, all hustlin'-recycling to get some paper in their pockets.

so i'm having dinner at the downtown whole foods market in austin. it is the flagship store of the chain. the wifi connection is from them for the outdoor dining area. i go to read the latest over at j. brotherlove's site, thebrotherlove.com and get this:
