i read about dmx's idiotic comments about barack obama last week and was too stunned to process it. tiffany d. brown has it on her site:
DMX: I’ma need you to put down the weed and pick up a paper
good lord. he can't really be that dayam ignant.
to dmx: "your momma ain’t name you no damn dmx." oh, and please stop giving interviews. righta about now you are ripe for a vh1 reality series.
(does he have a reality show already?)

an amazing clothesline of memories...part of a site specific
installation called "look what a woman’s got " by letitia huckaby at
the south dallas cultural center ("where the black experience is more than just a slogan"). the gallery at the center is lovely.
i arrived at the center yesterday to stage manage the two-day run of sharon bridgforth's "The love conjure/blues Text Installation." yesterday was tech...12 hours. whew! we arrived at the center at 9:45 a.m. and didn't leave until after 10 p.m. but it was all gooooooood! i can't wait for the show to go on tonight.

here we are again. another year of march madness. last year i had the pleasure of covering the southeastern conference championships at gwinnett arena, watching vanderbilt rise to the top over powerhouses tennessee and lsu. as i sat at the reporter's table and watched the players/coaches/officials/administrators interact, i have to say that in retrospect, there was something off about pokey chatman's demeanor. i have a feeling she had some sort of sixth sense about the sh*t that was about to hit the fan. when that situation blew the eff up, well, the ncaa tourney had a depressing shadow hanging over it. thank goodness, this year, the biggest non-tourney talk revolves around tennessee's candace parker's leaving before the end of her college eligibility to go pro. she will be the no. 1 draft pick. lsu's sylvia fowles will be no. 2
so should i make a bracket this year or just follow the online auto brackets? espn.com has nifty printable brackets in html, pdf and gif formats...think i'll just print one of those. since i work from home, i don't have an office pool for entering a friendly wager fray. oh well, i'm sure i can keep myself busy with all of the chatter on rebkell's junkie boards.
since my hometown lady gators aren't in the mix this year (and haven't been in while, oh carolyn...), i'll have to cheer for the lady longhorns as i live in austin now and i do like coach g.
